HM XColdo is a browser extension for MS Internet Explorer and Firefox you can use to create and edit 'HM Collection' documents right from within your Web browser. 'HM Collection' documents are XML documents containing a data collection with any desired content (link lists, image lists, recipe collection, item lists, price lists, address lists, etc.). Such an XML document is viewable in any Web browser like a usual HTML document. 'HM Collection' documents are stored as local XML file on your computer.
For a detailed description see the program's current PAD file on the Web.
In order to install HM XColdo, you should follow these steps:
Download the self-extracting installation package (exe file) to a temporary folder of your choice on your computer.
If you have a previous version of HM XColdo installed, uninstall it first for all users (see below).
If you are using Windows NT/2000/XP or a later version of Windows make sure you are logged in as user with administrative privileges.
Run the self-extracting HM XColdo setup program and follow the installation instructions displayed.
To uninstall HM XColdo open Windows 'Control Panel' and then the icon 'Programs and Features' (aka Software in earlier Windows versions). In the list of 'Installed Programs' select the item HM XColdo and click the button Uninstall (aka button Remove in earlier Windows versions).

As of version Firefox 3.0 a strict origin policy was introduced for the resource files of a locally stored webpage due to security reasons. The resource files are allowed to be in the same folder as the webpage or in a subfolder of this folder only.
Unfortunately, this restriction also concerns all XML documents which are stored on your computer and displayed in a Web browser as HTML page by means of applying an XSL transformation, so your 'HM Collection' documents too.
As already mentioned this restriction concerns only resource files already stored on your computer ('file://' URLs). Normally a file should be checked by an anti-virus program already when storing it to disk so that harmful files could be recognized and removed immediately. Anyway, the risk of such a harmful file comes from its content and not from its storage location (the files in the browser cache excepted which are at risk by definition). Therfore, in my opinion the strict origin policy for locally stored resource files increases the security just negligible or hardly ever.
To be able to display 'HM Collection' documents (and other XML documents) in Firefox 3.0 and higher nonetheless, you have one of the following options:
Disable this strict security check in Firefox (recommended):
To that, run Firefox and enter the address 'about:config'. All Firefox settings will be shown then. Look for the setting 'security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy' and set its value to 'false'.
This security setting concerns only the locally stored files on your computer and not the files and webpages downloaded from the Internet.
Reorganize the storing of your 'HM Collection' documents:
Usually you may store your 'HM Collection' documents in any folder on your computer. All such documents use a centrally stored XSL transformation file for being displayed in the Web browser.
If you would like to use Firefox 3.0 and higher and don't want to disable the security check mentioned above, you should organize the storing of your 'HM Collection' documents as follows:
Create a single folder for storing both the XSL transformation file and all your 'HM Collection' documents. Dependently if your computer is part of a local network or not and what users should be able to access the 'HM Collection' documents, you have to create this folder as personal folder (subfolder of 'My Documents') or as common folder for all users of your computer (subfolder of 'Shared Documents' aka 'Public Documents') or as shared folder for all users in your local network (shared folder on a file server). Then, in the program options of HM XColdo set the path of the XSLT stylesheet to use to the XSL transformation file in this folder. Thereto you may either specify the full file URI or still better just the filename without path. For more information on 'HM Collection' documents and the XSL transformation file see the Help on HM XColdo, chapter 'HM Collection' Documents.
'HM Collection' documents are created and edited with the XML Document Wizard of HM XColdo. To open this wizard you have to launch HM XColdo via the context menu of your Web browser. To that, follow these instructions:
'HM XColdo...'
which opens the XML Document Wizard.
'Create New Collection'
to create
a new 'HM Collection' document. Or select one of the other tasks to edit the 'HM Collection' document
currently opened in the Web browser.
For detailed instructions how to create a data collection, see chapter 'Tutorial' in the Help on HM XColdo.
For complete samples of 'HM Collection' documents, see the 'Examples' subfolder of the target folder HM XColdo is installed in. Read also chapter 'HM Collection Documents › Examples' in the Help on HM XColdo.
Note:
After installation of HM XColdo
it is recommended to close and reopen all open Web browser windows first before
using HM XColdo for the first time.
For detailed information on the order and payment possibilities, see chapter 'Order Information' in the Help on HM XColdo.
In the program group of HM XColdo you will find a link to the online order form on the Web. To open it click 'Start › All Programs › HM XColdo › Online Order' from the Windows desktop.

HM WebCopy is a browser extension for Internet Explorer and Firefox to capture and save the interesting part of Web pages without annoying banners, ads and navigation elements as HTML file on your computer.
To that, you just can select any desired area of a Web page, click the right mouse button and save the selected area as Web page on your computer. Optionally you can add further information about the original source of the Web page. The saved HTML file contains text structure and formatting as similar as possible to those of the original Web page.
For further information and download links see the HM WebCopy product page.
Use HM Find+Rename to search for files in a folder and its subfolders and to rename or sequential number the found files at once, to format the filenames to upper/lowercase/mixed formatting, or to change file date/time and attributes, quick and easy, using wildcards and regular expressions. The application provides a preview function, an undo function and a comprehensive help function. Often used search/replace patterns can be stored persistently and recalled later via a popup menu. HM Find+Rename is particularly qualified for quick working with a large number of files (for example your JPEG, MPEG or MP3 files collection).
